About The Position

Weyerhaeuser’s Longview Log Sort/Export Yard is seeking a qualified Log Scaler to join their team. Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Demonstrated commitment to working safely, including strict adherence to log yard safety procedures, taking personal initiative to work safely at all times, supporting the safety of team members, and helping maintain a safe work environment.
Knowledge and experience as a log scaler, including familiarity with sorting and grading specifications, species identification, and handheld electronic computer systems.
Strong listening and communication skills, with the ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment while contributing to a positive, productive, and safety-focused workplace.
Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment at all times and dress appropriately for year-round outdoor work conditions.

Responsibilities

Perform log scaling, log grading, and log accountability responsibilities in the yard and at the dock during vessel loading operations.
Support a small-crew, flow-to-work operating model by performing a variety of assignments and adapting to changing work priorities as needed.
Maintain clean, organized, and prepared workstations to support safe and efficient operations.
