About The Position
The Scale House Operator weighs trailers of full and empty cages as they arrive from the farm and leave the facility. This role involves maintaining accurate records in both the system and on paper, coordinating trailer schedules, and distributing weight tickets. The operator will also weigh outside trucks as necessary, answer phones, perform general housekeeping duties in their workspace, and report any issues with the scale or holding area to management. The position requires good computer skills, the ability to work closely with drivers, and the willingness to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally. The role may involve working in temperatures ranging from 0 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit in various climate conditions while checking fans or birds.
Requirements
- Good computer skills.
- Ability to work closely with drivers.
- Willing and able to lift occasionally 25lb.
- Three months of accumulative Operator Experience.
- Must complete the final task separate from the application.
- Applicants that complete an application and do not meet the rehire criteria will be removed from the application process.

Responsibilities
- Weighs trailers of full cages as they arrive from the farm.
- Keeps a record on a separate back dock sheet and ensures it matches what is entered in the system.
- Weighs trailers of empty cages and keeps records in the system and back dock report.
- Records all weights on appropriate paperwork and gives the information to the plant receiving clerk.
- Coordinates the schedule of the trailers to the plant live receiving department.
- Maintains copies of the weight tickets and distributes them to the appropriate areas.
- Weighs outside trucks as necessary and provides drivers with the weight ticket.
- Answers the phone.
- Performs general housekeeping duties in the workspace.
- Keeps management informed of any issues with the scale or holding area.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
