About The Position

This position involves assisting with the proper vaccination, movement, and chick placements of pullets and roosters. The role requires working closely with growers to ensure the safety, care, and maintenance of all birds. Responsibilities include assisting with moving males between farms, catching and unloading birds, drawing blood from pullets and roosters, and performing water vaccinations. Additionally, the role involves baiting stations for rodent control and other assigned duties by a supervisor. The job is subject to rotation and requires the ability to work in a dusty environment and potentially in inclement weather. Applicants must not own poultry unless it is a Tyson flock.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 1-year live poultry experience/vaccination experience.
  • Must be capable of bending, squatting, pulling, lifting, prolonged walking, standing, and manual dexterity.
  • Must be able to lift 50 LBS.
  • Must abide by all department safety rules.
  • Must not own any poultry (unless Tyson flock).
  • Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days.
  • Applicants that have worked at Tyson 3 times or more are not eligible for rehire.
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the proper vaccination movement and chick placements of pullets and roosters.
  • Assist hen growers with getting birds on the slats in the evening after movement.
  • Assist with moving males from spike farm and older flocks to younger flocks.
  • Assist with catching and unloading birds with a mechanical loader.
  • Assist service techs with drawing blood from pullets and roosters.
  • Work closely with growers to maintain the safety, care, and maintenance of all pullets and roosters.
  • Assist service techs with water vaccinations on pullet farms.
  • Assist with baiting stations for rodent control on breeder and pullet farms.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Ability to work multiple shifts (Vaccination is 1st shift and moves are 2nd shift).
  • Ability to work in dusty environment subject to inclement weather conditions.
