About The Position

Charter Contracting Company is hiring qualified personnel for a Scale Operator/Clerk position in Everett and Swansea, MA. Charter is a growing Boston-based non-union Civil/Environmental Remediation Contractor with jobsites throughout New England. Project types include environmental remediation, demolition, excavation, dredging, utility work, and landfill cap and closures. The ideal candidate will be organized, self-motivated, reliable, and safety-oriented. This role involves performing clerical duties for incoming landfill shipments, including reviewing shipping documents, recording shipment information, and communicating with truck drivers and site personnel. Computer skills with experience in MS Excel and Word are required. Job training on scale software will be provided. Additional duties may include operating a street sweeper and water truck, as well as general construction labor to support landfill operations.

Requirements

Organized, self-motivated, reliable and safety orientated individual
Computer skills with experience in MS Excel and Word
Must have a license and reliable transportation
Regularly required to push, pull and lift more than 50 lbs
Ability to work aloft, climb ladders, staging/scaffolding and other aerial equipment
Long hours spent on your feet
Working in various types of conditions (snow, rain, cold and heat)
At times, will be required to perform work above your head and in tight quarters

Responsibilities

Perform clerical duties for incoming shipments to the landfill
Review shipping documents
Record shipment information
Communicate with truck drivers and site personnel
Operate a street sweeper and water truck (additional duties)
Perform other general construction labor activities to support landfill operations
