About The Position

APAC Central Inc., a CRH company, is seeking a Scale House Clerk to join their team. This role is responsible for weighing trucks loaded with materials like rock, sand, or construction debris using specialized software and generating customer tickets. The position also involves performing clerical duties and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe plant office environment. This role works under general supervision, following established procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Six months to one year of relevant office support experience is preferred.
Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately record large volumes while monitoring activities in the scale house and truck traffic.
Communication: Strong verbal skills to communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and co-workers.
Organization: Must be capable of multitasking in a very fast-paced environment.

Previous dispatch experience not necessary, as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Manage scales at rock quarries, sand plants, and construction debris/demo materials landfills, weighing inbound/outbound commercial vehicles.
Generate load tickets and maintain load compliance.
Operate an in-house computer program.
Dispatch outside haulers.
Ensure safety standards are met.
Act as the primary on-site contact for logistics, material tracking, and customer service.
Operate computerized weigh scales to accurately record tare, gross, and net weights for incoming and outgoing vehicles.
Input precise load and customer data into the scale ticket system for accurate billing, daily invoicing, and reporting.
Screen incoming materials for quality and compliance, ensuring no hazardous or prohibited material enters the facility.
Dispatch customer orders to outside haulers.
Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers.
Provide scale house coverage at different locations in the KC Metro area when team members request time off or have emergencies.
Manage customer inquiries.
Process payments.
Maintain a clean, secure, and safe scale house environment.
