About The Position

G&P Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is currently looking for a Scale Attendant to join our team in Milford, NE! This role involves greeting and directing customers and employees, weighing trucks, calculating payments, tracking weight information, and ensuring incoming loads are safe and do not contain inappropriate material. The Scale Attendant will also answer phones professionally, perform clerical and general office duties, assist with filing and paperwork, and ensure customers and employees conduct business safely and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Additionally, the role includes providing general upkeep of the Scale House and demonstrating a high degree of tact, discretion, and diplomacy while working in a team environment.

Requirements

Excellent customer service skills.
Good computer skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Reliability and punctuality is a must.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Available M-F and the occasional Saturday.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).

Responsibilities

Greet and direct all customers and employees upon entry of the landfill.
Weighing trucks in and out and calculating payments for customers.
Track weight information from scale to computer system and get appropriate signatures.
Ensuring that incoming loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material.
Answers phone in a professional and enthusiastic fashion.
Performs full clerical and general office duties.
Assisting with office duties, filing and paperwork as needed.
Ensuring that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Providing general upkeep of the Scale House.
Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate a high degree of tact, discretion and diplomacy.
