Dakota Prairie, SMSC’s Organics Recycling Facility is looking to add a Scale Attendant to their team! This is a part-time, seasonal position through November. Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.
Basic knowledge in word-processing, spreadsheets, and electronic mail software.
Possess basic math skills.
Valid Class D driver’s license may be required with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

Operate the scale house to record in-coming and out-going weights, generate billing information for Finance and accept payments for product sales.
Advise and recommend proper application for compost and soil blends to customers.
Inspect in-bound loads for contamination.
Act as the first point of contact for all customers entering the facility.
Provide great customer service to both residential and commercial customers, answering questions, phone calls, and completing transactions.
Provide information and/or assistance regarding rules, regulations and operating procedures as outlined in the Operations Manual to customers utilizing the facility.
Operate the commercial truck scale independently, inputting data into a computer software system to create a receipt for each transaction.
Communicate with site operators to assure location of special product orders and sales for customer material loading.
Communicate with customers to direct them to the correct loading or unloading area.
Use a two-way radio to communicate with yard operators to inform them of all traffic entering the facility.
Receive payment from customers, balance receipts daily to ensure accurate record keeping and appropriate billing.
Perform routine cleaning of the scale house and surrounding area to ensure it remains neat, organized, and safe.
