About The Position

Performance Contracting is seeking an experienced Scaffold Estimator for its PCI Dallas 114 operations based in Midlothian, TX. This individual will be responsible for performing quantitative takeoffs on construction projects, generating business leads, and ensuring projects are estimated thoroughly and timely. The role requires establishing labor productivity for estimates, understanding market conditions to establish margin percentages, and conducting internal bid reviews with management, operations, and cost controls team members. The Estimator will also create and maintain positive relationships with customers and the PCI team, initiate and participate in customer alignment events, handle contract administration for secured projects, and conduct project hand-offs to the Operations Team. Additionally, the position involves attending job walks, assisting with bid-log efforts and customer/project tracking, and supporting change order management and billings.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years' experience estimating construction projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related field, or 5 years of comparable work experience is required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • A clear understanding of how to read and understand specifications and drawings
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught
  • Superb customer service skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with erection and dismantling of scaffold is preferred
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of systems, frame & brace, shoring, swing stage, and tube & clamp scaffold is preferred
  • Experience with working with union representatives is preferred
  • OSHA Certification
  • Local to the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area

Responsibilities
