About The Position

Scaffold Carpenters build and maintain safe, reliable scaffolding that supports project work. Duties may include erecting, altering, disassembling, moving, repairing, and inspecting scaffolds; reviewing blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements; and completing assigned tasks with quality workmanship. The role uses power and manual tools and equipment and requires following safety rules, maintaining a safe and clean environment, staying alert, and working safely. On-the-job training is offered.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Able to withstand prolonged periods standing and working outside.
• Physically able to perform assigned tasks.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
• Knowledge of carpentry and construction techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Erect, alter, disassemble, move, repair, and inspect scaffolds.
• Review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements.
• Complete assigned scaffold tasks with quality workmanship.
• Operate power and manual tools and equipment used in scaffold carpentry.
• Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Perform job duties and associated work functions in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Perform heavy physical labor.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and foremen.
