About The Position

The E&D Scaffold Builder is responsible for safely completing the installation and dismantling assignments in accordance with MDM Scaffolding safety guidelines, ANSA, federal, state, and local laws. The scaffold builder must always be cognizant of installation and dismantling sequencing, project specifications (good understanding of customers' need for building access), and all applicable safety guidelines. They must maintain a safe work site, free of safety hazards by monitoring compliance with safety program requirements and document and/or communicate safety concerns to appropriate parties. Effective communication and listening skills are essential when interacting with coworkers, general superintendents, and possibly customers. The role may involve administrative duties such as yard and job site inventory, safety meetings, payroll time-tracking, return tickets, change orders, time and material tickets, bill of materials, reading of blueprints, and other job site paperwork. Additionally, the position may require operating company vehicles, which could necessitate an active/valid driver’s license (CDL if applicable), DOT Medical Card, DOT driver file, and specific drug & alcohol testing requirements.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of scaffold experience in commercial or industrial markets
  • Experience using forklift, hammer, pry-bar, banding tools, power tools (i.e. drill motor, screw guns)
  • Good oral communication skills
  • Ability to present a clean and professional image
  • Availability at non-traditional hours to complete projects according to contract or job requirement
  • Ability to do basic math
  • Frequently stand, and/or walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Regularly lift and/or move and/or pull up to 50 pounds (up to 100 pounds with assistance) of scaffolding equipment, which may include lifting 50 pounds (up to 100 pounds with assistance) of scaffolding above shoulders (6-7 feet) to erect and dismantle scaffolding and to load onto trucks or racks
  • Capable of continuously carrying/wearing harness and work belt weighing 25-50 pounds while installing and dismantling scaffolding
  • Able to climb onto trailers or trucks and onto racks to secure and move equipment as well as climbing ladders to access scaffolding up to high precarious places

Nice To Haves
