About The Position

The Mundy Companies is hiring a Boilermaker with Scaffold Builder capabilities in the Baytown, Texas area. This role requires continuous and current experience in a petrochemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment. The position involves maintenance and installation of equipment related to towers, heat exchangers, heaters, and plant piping, adhering to blueprint specifications. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement, with the ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively. Craft certification or the ability to pass a craft test, along with a background check and drug screen, are required.

Requirements

Continuous and current experience as a Boilermaker in a petrochemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment.
Ability to help with other crafts, i.e., Scaffold Builder.
Ability to pass a craft test.
Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a safe, efficient manner.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

Performs maintenance and installs equipment related to various types of towers, heat exchangers, heaters, and plant piping to blueprint specifications, using power tools and hand tools.
Read blueprints to determine locations and relationship of parts.
Drill and tap holes for installation of studs.
Tighten bolts to assemble frames, using power or hand wrenches.
Bolts or screw accessories, such as manholes, hand holes, fans, gauges, and valves to vessels.
Replaces defective parts, using power wrenches, prying bars, or hand tools.
May perform general piping work such as line breaking, installing blinds, gaskets, valves, couplings, and other fittings.
May install equipment internals, packings, catalysts, and desiccants in vessels.
May perform basic rigging if necessary, along with other duties as assigned.
