About The Position

This position is responsible for installing, upgrading, testing, and calibrating Operational Technology instrumentation and control devices. The role involves monitoring, diagnosing, and troubleshooting field communications and equipment failures, ensuring accurate interfaces between RTUs/PLCs/EFMs and the SCADA system. The technician will maintain radio, satellite, and cellular communications equipment, potentially climbing towers for repairs and replacements, and performing work in accordance with FCC, FAA, and OSHA standards. Responsibilities also include facilitating the maintenance and reliability of associated infrastructure like OT power systems, UPS, and generators, ensuring redundancy measures are functioning. The role provides technical expertise as a liaison between SCADA and Operations personnel, offering second-tier technical support. Additionally, the technician will support TCP/IP network communications, respond to emergency calls, and assist with physical and cyber security tasks.

Requirements

Associates degree in engineering technology, electronics, computer science or a related field; OR a high school diploma or GED and three years related experience in operations, maintenance and troubleshooting electronics and communications equipment related to gas operations.
Ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information on technical concepts to individuals with experience or knowledge of the technical area.
Ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages and simple statistical methods.
Very high level of computer skills in order to use various software packages as well as a familiarity with hardware configuration.
Ability to lift 30 pounds from the ground to 45 inches.
Ability to carry 30 pounds a distance of 50 feet.
Ability to lift 15 pounds from the ground to 83 inches.
Ability to ascend/descend 10 rungs on a ladder.
Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and /or crouch.
Requires the acute sense of sight and hearing (corrected or uncorrected) and strong sense of smell.
Must maintain minimum Operator Qualifications (OQs) and classroom training for position.
Requires a valid driver's license in accordance with company standards.
As a Safety-Sensitive position, pre and post-employment screenings, including but not limited to drug testing as outlined by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), and motor vehicle record (MVR) background checks are required.

Requires frequently performing activities including, but not limited to, stooping, bending, crawling, kneeling, grasping, reaching, climbing and lifting objects up to 100 pounds (e.g. lifting and pulling rolls of pipe).
Must be able to accurately differentiate wiring and other system components by color.

Responsibilities

Performs work in accordance with FCC, FAA and OSHA standards and SCADA/ICS procedures.
Facilitates maintenance and reliability of all associated infrastructure, including OT power systems, UPS, generator, HVAC, and other supporting systems.
Assures redundancy measures are functioning properly to minimize downtime in the event of a primary system failure by performing periodic site inspections and DC power systems load surveys.
Provides technical expertise and services in response to hardware and software needs, working as a technical liaison between SCADA and Operations personnel.
Provides second tier technical support to internal and external stakeholders.
Supports TCP/IP network communications.
Monitors network performance, coordinates scheduled network outages, properly connects patch cables, and configures IP address information.
Responds to emergency and after hour calls, such as SCADA & control system failures, power systems, communication and equipment technical failures.
Coordinates and initiates repairs to minimize downtime.
Assists with physical and cyber security tasks including asset management, password resets, incident response, and compliance mitigation.
Assists with identifying, isolating, and addressing system risks and threats.
