As a SCADA Analyst III, you will support and maintain the SCADA environment that provides real-time monitoring and data visibility for upstream operations. You will configure, troubleshoot, and optimize SCADA applications, communications infrastructure, and data systems to ensure reliable field connectivity and operational performance. Your daily activities include monitoring system health, validating production data, supporting alarm management, and implementing system enhancements through established change management processes. You will contribute to projects that expand SCADA capabilities, improve data reliability, and support new facility commissioning efforts. Success in this role requires close collaboration with field operations, production engineering, IT infrastructure teams, and other business stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree
  • a minimum of five (5) years' experience in a SCADA or HMI role
  • experience with ClearSCADA, AutoSol, Kepware and OPC protocol
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
  • Demonstrated experience supporting SCADA and industrial control systems within upstream oil and gas, production operations, or similar industrial environments
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation to support SCADA system availability and address critical operational issues outside of normal business hours
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to field locations for project implementation, system commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational support
  • Ability to work safely in remote field and production environments as needed.
  • Needs basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
  • Demonstrates knowledge of network operations and telecommunications
  • Possesses SQL query writing capabilities
  • Familiar with various Flow Computer Protocols
  • Experience in the energy industry

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with and mentors other team members
  • Provides SCADA development services and technical support
  • Ensures successful implementation of system improvements
  • Adapts and configures SCADA applications to provide solutions for business requirements
  • Coordinates with internal users and external customers to understand SCADA requirements and provide appropriate SCADA solutions
  • Analyzes requirements and develops short and long-term SCADA solutions to meet business needs
  • Recommends SCADA solutions based on business requirements within an enterprise organization
  • Develops, configures, and administers enterprise SCADA/HMI platforms such as CygNet, Ignition, or AVEVA Wonderware (System Platform/InTouch), including HMI development, point/tag configuration, and platform administration
  • Manages alarm and historian functionality, including alarm configuration, performance optimization, rationalization efforts, and historical data management
  • Configures and maintains communications between field devices and SCADA systems using industry-standard protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, OPC, and Emerson ROC/FB
  • Utilizes platform scripting and asset modeling capabilities to support automation, data integration, and operational reporting using tools such as Jython, Python, QuickScript, or CygNet calculation services
  • Other duties as assigned
