The Material Coordinator will lead and coordinate resources within the tool room to ensure all tool/toolboxes, test equipment and hazardous materials (Hazmat) are efficiently tracked and inline with quality standards, ensuring that health, safety, and environmental requirements are adhered to. This role will oversee the requirements for the mobile calibration process, including equipment listing, pricing, and purchase requests/orders. The coordinator will maintain organized and accurate records for internal and external audits, monitor task completion for performance and customer service, and manage the receiving, storing, and issuing of hand tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies, and equipment. Additionally, the position involves maintaining and updating records of tool room equipment, ensuring tools are calibrated and records are updated in the tool room database, and keeping records of tools issued and returned. The role includes searching for lost tools, preparing periodic inventories, ensuring tool room attendants perform according to standard operating procedures (SOP), and updating processes as requirements change. The coordinator will also unpack and store equipment, report damaged or worn-out equipment, track damaged material through the repair process, and attach identification tags or engrave information on tools and equipment. This position requires attending Hazmat training courses for certification, ordering Hazmat items as needed, and assisting four locations with the upkeep of Hazmat chemicals and inventory. The role also involves identifying supply sources, procuring, receiving, and stocking specialized tools, updating material inventory, and managing government and commercially owned stock.
