Join our team as a Material Coordinator 3 on 1st Shift 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday – Friday with some Saturdays per business need. In this role, you'll serve as the central point of coordination between Production, Warehouse, Purchasing, Logistics, and Customer Service to ensure materials are available when needed and production schedules stay on track. In our smaller plant environment, you'll wear multiple hats — balancing production scheduling, inventory control, purchasing support, material coordination, and warehouse operations to keep the plant running efficiently. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 or more years of experience in production scheduling and planning, materials coordination, inventory control, logistics, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
  • 1 or more years of experience sit down Forklift (Required)
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems to create work orders, manage inventory, and support production scheduling.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control principles including FIFO, cycle counting, and material planning.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 or more years of experience supporting food, beverage, chemical, plastics, bottling, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles preferred.
  • Experience with purchasing and supplier coordination preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules based on customer demand, sales forecasts, inventory levels, and plant capacity.
  • Convert customer orders into executable production schedules, accounting for equipment availability, labor resources, changeovers, and production priorities.
  • Monitor schedule adherence and adjust production plans as business needs change; review work-in-process, finished goods inventory, and production performance to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Plan and coordinate raw material, packaging, and component requirements to support production schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels and proactively identify potential shortages or excess inventory.
  • Manage long-term material requirements for key items including corrugate, bottles, labels, caps, chemicals, and other critical materials.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation, practicing FIFO and following quality and inventory control procedures.
  • Create and manage work orders, purchase orders, and material receipts within the ERP/MRP system.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and suppliers to expedite critical materials and resolve supply issues.
  • Maintain planning data including lead times, reorder points, and inventory parameters; prepare reports on inventory, production schedules, and material availability.
  • Coordinate material movement throughout the facility and conduct daily yard checks to ensure trailers and materials are available to meet production requirements.
  • Stock and maintain inventory in designated storage areas including the label and corrugate rooms; assist with unloading incoming materials and repositioning inventory as needed.
  • Prepare materials for shipment to other facilities when necessary.
  • Collaborate daily with Production, Warehouse, Purchasing, Logistics, Customer Service, and Quality to ensure uninterrupted operations, communicating scheduling changes, material shortages, and inventory concerns to key stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve inventory accuracy, scheduling efficiency, and operational performance.
