About The Position

SAIC is seeking a highly motivated SCA Engineering Technician III to support the Specialized Munitions Division and Munitions Sustainment Branch at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane, IN. The technician will be responsible for the preparation, coating, and sustainment of industrial parts and military systems. This role involves performing detailed surface treatments, applying specialized finishes, in addition to conducting mechanical and technical duties such as disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of critical equipment. The position requires adherence to strict safety, quality, and operational protocols in support of national security objectives.

Requirements

• Experience in surface preparation and coating application.
• Ability to perform technical and mechanical duties including disassembly, inspection, testing, and reassembly.
• Familiarity with technical drawings and standard operating procedures.
• Knowledge of OSHA and hazmat handling standards.
• Proficiency in maintaining detailed work records and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Perform sanding, cleaning, scraping, masking, and patching of industrial parts.
• Apply military-grade primers, paints, and coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
• Disassemble, inspect, test, and reassemble complex systems like missiles and munitions.
• Execute sustainment operations and system testing by following technical drawings and standard operating procedures.
• Clean and maintain all application equipment and comply with all OSHA and hazmat handling standards.
• Maintain detailed records of all work, including data entry for job tracking, inspection results, and process operations.
