Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Electronic Maintenance Tech 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. Work typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. Candidates will be required to interface with engineering, quality, program management and customers. As a senior technician, training and technical guidance to lower-level technicians will be performed. Good interpersonal skills are required.

Requirements

  • An Electronics Associate Degree or Military Training Equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of related experience; OR 5 years of related experience will be considered in lieu of Degree or Military Training
  • Strong knowledge of systems troubleshooting.
  • Ability to perform circuit analysis to a failed component.
  • Ability to read schematics and engineering drawing.
  • Solder repair experience.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance. Security clearance is not required to start.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Microsoft Office basic skills.

Nice To Haves

  • An undergrad degree in an Electrical Engineering related field.
  • Experience working in ERP and MES systems.
  • A current US Government Security Clearance (or higher).
  • Experience in the sustainment of military systems and equipment.
  • Experience with military equipment logistics, technical manuals, and quality standards.
  • RF (Radio Frequency) experience.
