About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Draftsman to provide drafting and documentation support for NSWC Crane. In this role you will support a team creating/updating Technical Data Package(s) using Creo, SolidWorks 3D parametric Software and Windchill. Be able to understand, perform and be able to be trained quickly and efficiently to the processes and procedures that are required.

Requirements

• Proficiency in SolidWorks and occasional other forms of CAD Software.
• Ability to understand, perform, and be trained quickly on required processes and procedures.
• Ability to work closely with customers, engineers, technicians, and other CAD operators.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to delegate tasks and provide advice to team members.
• Ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
• Ability to maintain Configuration Management of tasks, files, and correspondences.
• Ability to use tools such as Calipers, Gauges, Tape Measure, Ruler, and other mechanical devices.
• Must currently have and maintain a Secret Clearance. Interim Clearance needed to start.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Creo and Windchill.

Responsibilities

• Creates and modifies detailed models and drawings using SolidWorks and occasional other forms of CAD Software.
• Works closely with the Customer, Engineers, Technicians and other CAD Operators to capture design, revise existing documentation and attend meetings.
• Works independently as well as in a collective team effort to effect changes to design and/or documentation.
• Able to delegate tasking and advice to other team members while maintaining quick decision making under pressure.
• Able to keep Configuration Management of the tasking, files and correspondences as required to complete the task in a quick and orderly fashion.
• Performs a variety of moderate and complex tasks and have the ability to use a variety of tools to include, but not limited to, Calipers, Gauges, Tape Measure, Ruler and other mechanical devices to aid in design development and verification/validation of first article pieces.
• Currently have and maintain a Secret Clearance. Interim Clearance needed to start.
