About The Position

Vickers and Nolan Enterprises (VNE) is an engineering company that provides Government projects and programs with experienced and dedicated system architects, engineers, subject matter experts (in tactical intelligence), and program managers. VNE also develops training courses and tools to prepare warfighters to effectively employ tactical intelligence systems and provide management guidance to the Government organizations that develop these systems. The scope of work covers systems engineering, technical, and management support services for the government and its associated acquisition, technology, logistics, and program management offices. Support is provided to multiple stakeholders responsible for the development, integration, and sustainment of specialized operational capabilities. The scope of support includes program management, engineering analysis and design, configuration management, testing, quality control, sustainment, cybersecurity, training, and field service representative (FSR) support for a static collection capability that functions as a subsystem within a larger integrated system. This is in support of the development, production, and sustainment of specialized intelligence capabilities. Configuration management and associated systems engineering activities are conducted through a collaborative effort among multiple government and partner organizations to ensure interoperability, performance, and lifecycle support.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI Eligible Cleared Drafter CAD Operator III
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Seven (7) years professional experience in drafting/illustrating in the electronics field, to include: computerized drafting applications, digital imaging techniques, use of AutoCAD, planning and preparing graphic presentations of complex items.
  • Experience with preparing complete sets of complex drawings or computer models that include multiple views, detail drawings, and assembly drawings.
  • Experience with drawings or models that include complex design features that require considerable drafting skill to visualize and portray.
  • Knowledge of mathematical formulas to draw land contours or to compute weights, center of gravity, load capacities, dimensions, quantities of material, etc.
  • Working from sketches, computer models, and verbal information supplied by an engineer, architect, or designer to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments.
  • Selecting required information from computer programs, and internet sites, precedents, manufacturers' catalogs, and technical guides.
  • Independently resolving most of the problems encountered.
  • Suggesting methods of approach or providing advice on unusually difficult problems at the supervisory level.
  • TS/SCI Eligible level Clearance required.

Nice To Haves

  • Excludes drafter performing work of similar difficulty to that described at this level but who provides support for a variety of organizations that have widely differing functions or requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing complete sets of complex drawings or computer models that include multiple views, detail drawings, and assembly drawings.
  • Preparing complete sets of drawings of test equipment to be manufactured from layouts, models, or sketches.
  • Describing dimensions, tolerances, fits, fabrication techniques, and standard parts to use in manufacturing the equipment.
  • Determining the arrangement and preparing drawing of printed circuit boards from electronic schematics, information as to maximum size, and manuals giving dimensions of standard parts.
  • Preparing final construction drawings for floodgates, navigation locks, dams, bridges, culverts, levees, channel excavations, dikes and berms, preparing boring profiles, typical cross-sections, and land profiles; and delineating related topographical details as required.
  • Preparing final drawings for street paving and widening or for water and sewer lines having complex trunk lines; reducing field notes and calculating true grades.
  • Laying out plan, profile and detail appurtenances required; and notifying supervisor of conflicting details in design.
  • Ability to communicate task requirement information to client in a clear and concise manner.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as lead and participate in meetings and working groups.
  • Requires visual acuity to use a keyboard.
  • Must be able to attend work each day, during scheduled hours, unless on travel or approved time off.
  • Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face-to-face.
