The SBA (Small Business Administration) Closing Manager oversees and coordinates the closing process for SBA loans, ensuring compliance with SBA regulations and bank policies. This associate works closely with our clients, loan officers, legal teams, and vendors to facilitate timely and accurate loan closings that meet all program and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of SBA closing or commercial loan closing experience required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SBA SOPs and lending regulations.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in loan documentation systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of SBA closing associates, providing leadership, guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Review SBA loan approval documents and ensure all closing conditions are satisfied.
  • Coordinate communication between clients, loan officers, underwriters, and third-party vendors during the loan closing process.
  • Monitor pipeline and prioritize workflow to ensure closing deadlines are met.
  • Ensures final due diligence for all loan documents, including UCC filings, collateral documents, collateral documents, insurance, and environmental reports is received and collateral perfected.
  • Ensure all closing documentation adheres to SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and internal policies.
  • Address and resolve issues that arise during the closing process, escalating complex matters when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and complete loan files, preparing for audits and reviews.
  • Train and mentor closing associates on SBA requirements and closing procedures.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates, explain requirements, and address questions or concerns.
