About The Position

The Small Business Administration (SBA) Banker III is responsible for leading business development with a primary focus on SBA lending while maintaining market leadership presence in the local community. The SBA Banker is responsible for soliciting and servicing prospective clients producing SBA 7a and 504 as well as generating and managing a portfolio of business and corresponding relationships, while seeking new accounts through calling efforts, marketing, and referrals. Consistently gains the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 10+ years in business development and/or financial services experience required.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • PC Proficiency in Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, and Smartphone devices as well as Microsoft Office Suite software.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree in a financial related discipline preferred.
  • 5+ years of directly related SBA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business development with a primary focus on SBA lending.
  • Solicit and service prospective clients producing SBA 7a and 504 loans.
  • Generate and manage a portfolio of business and corresponding relationships.
  • Seek new accounts through calling efforts, marketing, and referrals.
  • Establish a consistent SBA business development cadence in the marketplace, including call planning, follow-up, client retention calls, new client prospecting, outbound telephone calling, and networking events.
  • Maintain and expand a Center of Influence (COI) base of community and business leaders.
  • Perform sales, credit analysis, proper loan structuring (SBA loan packaging and submission), client interviewing, and character judgment.
  • Source and build new business relationships.
  • Educate prospective clients about the Bank’s underwriting guidelines, SBA programs, and all applicable government regulations.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, loan closers, and other staff for timely loan closing and funding.
  • Balance business needs with customer requests while managing potential risk to the bank.
  • Adhere to Seacoast Bank’s Code of Conduct, policy & procedure, and BSA/AML/OFAC regulations and guidelines.
  • Accept loan applications and collect required applicant information following Fair Lending performance standards.
  • Practice ethical sales behaviors and act in the best interest of the applicant.
  • Proactively resolve customer concerns in a timely, professional, and positive manner, escalating issues as needed.
  • Act as a mentor to junior level SBA Lenders within Seacoast Bank.
