About The Position

Concorde Education partners with schools and community organizations to provide engaging enrichment programs that inspire creativity, confidence, collaboration, and lifelong learning. We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Saxophone Instructors who are interested in providing instructional services for instrumental music programs serving elementary, middle, and high school students. This posting is intended to identify qualified professionals who may be considered for future independent contractor instructional assignments as opportunities become available.

Requirements

• Strong saxophone performance and instructional skills.
• Knowledge of fundamental music theory and musicianship.
• Ability to clearly demonstrate and explain instrumental techniques.
• Ability to engage students at different ages and skill levels.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Enthusiasm for music and student development.
• Reliability, professionalism, and preparedness.
• A positive and encouraging instructional approach.
• Experience working with K–12 students in a school, after-school program, music school, camp, community organization, private lesson, or youth ensemble setting is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in areas such as alto, tenor, soprano, and/or baritone saxophone.
• Teach proper embouchure, breathing, posture, and tone production.
• Instruct on fingering and fundamental playing techniques.
• Cover music reading, rhythm, scales, and basic music theory.
• Provide individual and small-group instrumental instruction.
• Facilitate ensemble playing and musicianship.
• Introduce improvisation and introductory jazz concepts.
• Teach age-appropriate repertoire across a variety of musical styles.
• Prepare students for performances and develop stage presence.
• Guide students on instrument care and proper practice techniques.

Benefits

• Starting at $50+ per instructional hour, with rates varying based on the assignment, instructor qualifications, experience, location, scheduling needs, and other program-related factors. Most assignments fall between $50–$65 per instructional hour.
