About The Position

Concorde Education partners with schools and community organizations to provide engaging enrichment programs that inspire creativity, confidence, collaboration, and lifelong learning. We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Chorus Instructors who are interested in providing instructional services for vocal music and choral enrichment programs serving elementary, middle, and high school students. This posting is intended to identify qualified professionals who may be considered for future independent contractor instructional assignments as opportunities become available.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Chorus or choir teacher, Vocal music instructor, Music educator, Vocal coach, Choir director, Performing vocalist with teaching experience, Teaching artist or enrichment instructor.
  • Experience working with K–12 students in a school, after-school, camp, community, private lesson, or youth music setting is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of vocal and choral instruction.
  • Ability to lead and engage groups of students.
  • Clear communication and classroom management skills.
  • Enthusiasm for music and student development.
  • Reliability, professionalism, and preparedness.
  • Ability to adapt instruction for different ages, skill levels, and learning needs.
  • A positive and encouraging instructional approach.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal teaching certification is not required unless specifically stated for an individual assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in choral singing and ensemble performance.
  • Teach vocal technique, breathing, posture, and projection.
  • Instruct students on pitch, rhythm, harmony, and musicianship.
  • Lead group warm-ups and vocal exercises.
  • Teach age-appropriate repertoire across a variety of musical styles.
  • Prepare students for performances, focusing on stage presence.
  • Develop musical collaboration, listening, and ensemble skills.
  • Build confidence and encourage positive participation among students.

Benefits

  • Starting at $50+ per instructional hour, with rates varying based on the assignment, instructor qualifications, experience, location, scheduling needs, and other program-related factors. Most assignments fall between $50–$65 per instructional hour.
