About The Position
VM West, LLC. is a leading vegetation management company dedicated to providing high-quality services in forestry operations. We specialize in sustainable forestry practices and are committed to the safety and well-being of our employees and the environment. We are seeking a Sawyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely felling trees, cutting logs/brush, and performing various chainsaw operator tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of tree species, cutting techniques, and safety protocols.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel
- Ability to pass background check and pre-employment screening
- Must be able to operate a chainsaw for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in challenging environments, including steep terrain and adverse weather conditions
- Ability to walk across various terrain in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and perform physical activities as needed
Nice To Haves
- Experience running a chainsaw
- CPR and first aid certification
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
