About The Position

Operates basic saw types such as pop-up, miter, web saws, etc. to cut planks, timbers, or boards according to work orders. Requirements

• Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
• Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to همچنین multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
• Ability to read at tape measure at 1/16 inch.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Must be able to identify species, size, and grade of lumber.

Responsibilities

• Reviews work order to determine cut(s) to be made.
• Adjusts saw for required cuts.
• Adjusts speed of saw and feed rolls.
• Observes automatic feeding of lumber to saw or pushes end of lumber into feed rolls.
• Stacks cut lumber after processing.
• Advises supervisor of dull saw blades.
• Other duties as assigned
