About The Position

This position requires shop work. When working in the shop, one must exercise caution as this environment presents many naturally occurring and potentially worker-produced hazards. Safety policies must always be adhered to. Appropriate personal protective equipment (i.e., safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and others) must always be worn where required. It is very important that the incumbent of this position can work and communicate with prudence, while effectively managing time, completing tasks, and working safely. Additionally, Saw Operator will be required to read and understand production drawings, blueprints, work orders and other written instructions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Completion of college/vocational or technical training preferred
  • Appropriate credentials and certifications
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment
  • Ability to work shift work
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to deal with people tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always
  • 2 years experience as a hem saw operator.
  • Experience with all safe practices, procedures, and overall processes.
  • Computer literate.

  • Completion of college/vocational or technical training

Responsibilities

  • Measure and cut material with a mechanical saw
  • Ability to identify structural steel and alloy
  • Read and understand blueprints and/or drawings
  • Ability to lift and move materials to and from racks to equipment
  • Unloading products received and loading finished products for delivery.
  • Other assigned work as required
  • Mechanical saw operation experience
