About The Position

The Saw Operator performs all phases of work entailed in the assigned operation. Operations include blueprint comprehension, material list generation, and sawing of material. All operations require working safely, following standardized work instructions and ensuring quality and accuracy. ATC Automation has been redefining what's possible in custom automation since 1977. Requirements

  • High School diploma.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions in the calculations for Statistical Process Control (SPC) measurements and charting techniques.
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints, work instructions, and safety rules and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret metric as well as SAE measurements, using various measuring tools.
  • Ability to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform this job.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions with strong problem solving and math skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • The ability to predictably and regularly attend work and to be punctual.
  • The ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • The ability to deal politely and professionally with coworkers.
  • The ability to perform several tasks at once.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic mathematical functions in the calculations for Statistical Process Control (SPC) measurements and charting techniques.
  • Read and understand blueprints, work instructions, and safety rules and procedures.
  • Read and interpret metric as well as SAE measurements, using various measuring tools.
  • Use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform this job.
  • Review work schedule, check equipment, safety devices, mistake-proofing devices, components and supplies required to perform the work scheduled.
  • Learn and perform all job steps and procedures (i.e. work instructions, processes, etc.) to successfully perform the operation.
  • Perform required housekeeping duties as required and as necessary.
  • Complete all required paperwork.
  • Maintain equipment and tools as needed.
  • Report all safety hazards, quality issues and/or material shortages to Team Leader.
  • Know and adhere to the policies and procedures of the Health & Safety Management System, Quality Management System and the Environmental Management System.
  • Know and adhere to all applicable safety rules and procedures.
  • Operate efficiently in a team environment and individually.
  • Work as a member of the Tooling and Fabrication team.
