About The Position

Weldall Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a Saw Operator for 2nd & 3rd shifts. Founded in 1973, Weldall has grown into a preferred manufacturer known for its quality products and client service. The Saw Operator will perform all tasks safely and responsibly, setting up and operating power saws to cut, miter, and trim material according to specifications. This role involves selecting and installing blades, setting machine controls, and positioning fixtures to secure material. The operator will mount material and verify dimensions of finished material using measuring devices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent work preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience as a saw operator
  • Good math and blueprint reading skills required
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations required
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane, forklift or stand-up may be required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when required
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of converting between metric and standard units of measure preferred
  • Experience with miter cuts preferred
  • Ability to follow shop routings

Responsibilities

  • Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
  • Sets up and operates power saws to cut, miter, and trim material according to specifications
  • Selects and installs blade on machine, using hand tools
  • Sets controls to adjust speed, feed rate, and blade tensions
  • Positions guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct material
  • Mounts material in holding device, manually or using hoist
  • Verifies dimensions of finished material using measuring devices
