This position works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Operator, Saw 1 is responsible for ensuring cut orders are maintained in the planned schedule to achieve on-time delivery. This role involves receiving and inspecting incoming raw material, producing a quality product with attention to detail, and performing picking, cutting, kitting, and serialization of material. The operator will also be responsible for safely removing rejected billets, marking and recording rejected materials, and inspecting cut billets to perform required quality checks. Forklift driving is required for this assignment. The role also includes reading and interpreting work orders and blueprints, working on projects simultaneously to maximize production efforts and eliminate downtime, and actively engaging in safety of self and others. The operator will maintain equipment and supplies, work with trade personnel and maintenance departments, and keep a clean and organized work area. This position follows directions from the immediate supervisor and functional lead to complete daily tasks, and may perform other duties as needed.
