About The Position

NABRICO Marine Products is seeking a safety-focused, detail-oriented Saw Operator to join our team in Ashland City, TN. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately cutting steel and other materials to specifications while supporting daily production operations. NABRICO Marine Products is a leading manufacturer of inland barges and marine products serving the U.S. inland waterway system. Our products help transport essential commodities including grain, coal, aggregates, petroleum products, fertilizers, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes throughout the nation's waterways. In addition to manufacturing dry cargo and tank barges, NABRICO Marine Products is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers and produces a complete line of marine deck hardware, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.

Requirements

  • Ability to read blueprints, work orders, and production drawings.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure and use precision measuring tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Excellent attendance, dependability, and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely handle steel materials and work around moving machinery and overhead cranes.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and industrial conditions.
  • Ability to follow work instructions, production schedules, and safety procedures while maintaining quality standards.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience operating industrial saws in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of steel types, material handling, and fabrication processes is preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate overhead cranes or forklifts is a plus (or willingness to learn).

Responsibilities

  • Operate horizontal, vertical, or band saws to cut steel, pipe, plate, and other materials according to production requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, cut lists, and production drawings.
  • Accurately measure and mark materials using tape measures, squares, and other measuring tools.
  • Verify material dimensions and ensure cuts meet required specifications and tolerances.
  • Load, position, and secure materials for safe cutting operations.
  • Inspect finished materials for accuracy and quality before releasing them to production.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with production leads, welders, fitters, and material handlers to support manufacturing operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
