About The Position

This position works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Operator, Saw 1 is responsible for ensuring cut orders are maintained in the planned schedule to achieve on-time delivery. This role involves receiving and inspecting incoming raw material, producing a quality product with attention to detail, and performing picking, cutting, kitting, and serialization of material. The operator will also be responsible for safely removing rejected billets, inspecting cut billets, performing quality checks, and reading/interpreting work orders and blueprints. The role requires working on multiple projects simultaneously to maximize production, actively engaging in safety, maintaining equipment and supplies, and collaborating with trade personnel and maintenance. A clean and organized work area, adherence to quality and safety standards, and participation in continuous improvement activities are expected. The operator will follow directions from their supervisor and functional lead to complete daily tasks and may be assigned other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 1 Year of forklift driving experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Should be able to do basic Mathematical calculations

Responsibilities

  • Ensures cut orders are maintained in the planned schedule to achieve on time delivery to internal and external customers.
  • Receives and inspects incoming raw material and produces a quality product with attention to detail.
  • Responsible for picking, cutting, kitting, and serialization of material to be delivered to internal business units.
  • Carefully remove rejected billets from the cutting table with the help of hoist mounted on neat the cutting machine.
  • Rejected materials should be clearly marked or labeled before taken to the scrap pile. Specifies reason for rejection, cast number and weight should be recorded on the paperwork.
  • Inspect the cut billets and perform the required quality checks.
  • Forklift Driving is required to complete the assignments.
  • Reads and interprets work orders and blueprints.
  • Works on projects simultaneously to maximize production efforts and eliminate down time.
  • Actively engages in safety of self and others within the facility, including holding internal customers and contractors responsible for best-in-class safety.
  • Maintains equipment and supplies.
  • Works with trade personnel and maintenance departments to sustain optimal productivity.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area with attention to quality and safety standards.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement activities as needed.
  • Follows directions of immediate supervisor and functional lead to complete daily tasks.
  • Other duties as needed
