About The Position

Safely Operates the finish saw to cut aluminum lineal into specified lengths per traveler and ensure dimensions are within tolerance to meet the production demands of customers.

Requirements

• Knowledge or production operations normally acquired by six months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Forklift and overhead cranes certification necessary.
• Ability to work in a team or independently.
• Ability to read, count, perform simple math equations and accurately measure is required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to team-lift, load and carry items weighing up to 150 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous saw experience helpful.
• Previous experience with small hand tools is beneficial (caliper, tape measure, square, air gun, feeler gauge, calculator).

Responsibilities

• Ensure the correct cut length is entered into saw HMI screen.
• Verify cut length with tape measure is within allowable tolerance per customer specifications.
• Enter data to print saw tags and generate oven load lists.
• Verify profile dimensions are within tolerance and submit measurements taken via computer.
• Notify press lead if dimensions are out of tolerance.
• Operate Automated saw system, Stacker, Basket Crane, Conveyor system, and Age Oven
• Occasionally operate overhead crane
• Adjusts the blade speed as needed to complete the cut.
• Follows all safety rules at all times.
• Checks and maintains oil levels on saw. Fills as needed to ensure proper operation.
• Must communicate effectively with coworkers on all shifts to ensure smooth transition of workload.
• Keep workstation clean and orderly.
