These are energetic environments for culinary ambassadors who want to deliver consistent quality in handcrafted foods such as pastries, cakes, focaccia-style pizza and artisanal baked breads. This position contributes to Reserve Kitchen’s success by organizing and executing food preparation in large quantities. This position assists the Head Savory Chef and Lead Savory Cook in production planning and execution while ensuring compliance with quality and sanitation requirements. Partner must model and act in accordance with Starbucks principles and company policies.

Requirements

  • 2+ years culinary production in a professional kitchen – commercial a plus (required)
  • Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry 35lbs on a consistent basis and up to 55lbs occasionally
  • Ability to adhere to strict personal hygiene and standards of dress consistent with policy
  • Attention to Detail
  • Passion for learning culinary arts
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently while executing at a high level
  • Competent knife skills
  • Data entry; Basic working knowledge of computers
  • Basic Math and English skills

Nice To Haves

  • Current Health Code Certification (as per State and Local DOH requirements) (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Prepares a wide variety of savory products, soups and sauces according to prescribed recipes
  • Assists the Savory team in the organization and execution of timely food preparation.
  • Assists with sanitation, food safety and related production activities
  • Ability to read, scale and mise large-batch recipes for production
  • Maintains date lot tracking sheets and HACCP temp logs
  • Scaling recipes for production; familiar with using gram/kilogram scales and units of measure
  • Performs other duties as assigned by their leader in support of the kitchen
