About The Position

The role of the Saturation Technician position is to deliver specified production and quality goals by performing the setup, assembly, troubleshooting/repair of assigned equipment, and in process inspections of saturated products made in the nonwoven saturation area.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate instructions effectively to all personnel.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals to the tenth.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw simple geometric figures. (Example: 12.7” x 21” inches rectangle).
  • Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Communicates Effectively: Is effective in a variety of communication settings: one-on-one and groups. Absorbs information being communicated from supervisor and peers.

Responsibilities

  • Meets regular and reliable work-site attendance requirements in order to perform the job and meet productivity standards.
  • Communicates quality and production goals to Saturation Operators.
  • Performs daily troubleshooting and repairs on assigned.
  • Documents work by entering production data into IFS.
  • Reads and interprets product/process drawings, Control Plans, and Work Orders as necessary to complete production.
  • Performs equipment setup and material changeover.
  • Troubleshooting skills: Frequently (Multiple times in a shift) observes machines performance and makes calculated adjustments as needed.
  • Works with cross functional team to run engineering and production trials.
  • Performs in-process inspections as required by the Control Plans.
  • Packages products to IFS specifications.
  • Follows all safety procedures when using equipment and handling product.
  • Participates and works within ISO 9001 quality standards guidelines in accordance with Contec’s quality goals.
  • Participates in the training of Operators and Technicians as assigned.
  • Others may be assigned.
