About The Position

The Saturation Machine Operator is responsible for performing assigned work in the Manufacturing department to meet process requirements. This role demands a safe, productive, efficient, and quality-conscious approach to all tasks. The employee must be self-motivated, cooperative, and possess excellent attendance. Adherence to all work rules and the utilization of critical reasoning skills for problem-solving related to safety, quality, and productivity are essential.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent work experience with basic math, written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work with others as a team member.
  • Ability to understand and work with metric measures and volumes.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs., climb stairs, walk, and stand a significant part of the shift.
  • Ability to work in high humidity and high temperature environments.
  • Must be able to work any shift required, including overtime.
  • Must complete all required annual training to meet safety rules and OSHA regulations.
  • Participate on problem-solving teams as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing experience in coating, web handling or extrusion preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the Blythewood Plant Safety Program and successfully complete Company-provided safety training.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and practice of all safety procedures in the area.
  • Operate required material handling devices and handle materials properly.
  • Operate machinery while monitoring material, equipment, and methods to ensure quality product manufacturing.
  • Collect data and complete record-keeping requirements.
  • Perform in-process quality testing.
  • Understand production specifications and quality requirements.
  • Perform change-overs, start-ups, monitoring, and adjustments of operating conditions to maintain quality, production, and safety standards on production equipment.
  • Produce product at an acceptable rate and required quality.
  • Accurately use measuring and weighing tools and devices.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, making adjustments, and fixing minor mechanical problems.
  • Complete required training and perform duties of Hazardous Waste Handler, including transferring hazardous waste containers to the accumulation area and ensuring proper labeling and sealing.
  • Perform related tasks as requested by the supervisor.
