About The Position

The Security Engineering Program (SEP) within the Homeland Sector at Leidos is seeking a Satellite Communications SME for the Professional Services Support (PSS) Program. This role involves providing remote and on-site service, repair, and installation support for existing hardware, software, communication network configurations, and new system initiatives across various locations. The candidate will apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts to diagnose and resolve technical deviations, prepare reports on failure trends, and manage Communications Security (COMSEC) material. Responsibilities may also include providing on-site support and assisting in procedural and policy development. The role requires project management within their professional area, coaching peers, and developing technical solutions for complex problems through collaboration and in-depth analysis.

Requirements

  • Minimum of TS Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain program SCI.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience with Satellite Communication (SATCOM) systems, including system operations, engineering, design, installation, repair, and analysis.
  • Expert-level knowledge of the DoD satellite resource allocation process.
  • Experience handling Communications Security (COMSEC) electronic material and Controlled Cryptographic Item (CCI).
  • Very proficient with operating and installing satellite modems, associated cables, and interconnects; Up Converters, Redundancy Switch; Down Converters, HPAs, Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs), LNB; Waveguide (rigid, flex, and elliptical) joints and connections; IF cable and connections; Antenna, Antenna motors, Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPA), Antenna Control Unit (ACU), and associated cabling and interconnects.
  • Expert knowledge of electronic and radio frequency (RF) theory, spectrum analyzers, antennas, signal propagation, Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) systems, Communications on the Move (COTM), and Communications On the Pause (COTP) operational principles.
  • Must have normal color vision.
  • Able to constantly stand to perform maintenance tasks for extended periods.
  • Able to frequently walk to access work sites while maintaining balance on uneven surfaces.
  • Able to make frequent coordinated hand movements to grasp, place, or move objects.
  • Able to occasionally bend, stoop, and kneel.
  • Able to occasionally climb to access equipment, use ladders, and use lift carts.
  • Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to forty-five (45) pounds a minimum of twenty (20) feet.
  • Able to push and pull objects weighing up to seventy-five (75) pounds.

Responsibilities

Benefits

  • Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00
