About The Position

Test Takers is seeking passionate and experienced SAT and academic tutors to join their professional tutoring team on Long Island. The role involves working with students in attractive locations near LIRR stations in Manhasset, Garden City, and Syosset. The company offers great training, ongoing support, and competitive hourly wages. Tutors will work at Test Takers through the end of the 2026/27 school year and are expected to live locally in Nassau County. Test Takers, established in 2000, now offers customized one-on-one tutoring for the SAT and various academic subjects at its new office in downtown Manhasset.

Requirements

• A 4-year college degree from a great university.
• Expertise in a high school academic subject.
• Experience in working with students.
• Conscientious, punctual, and reliable.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proactive and efficient.
• Team-oriented and coachable.
• Enthusiastic and positive.
• Ability to tutor during after-school hours, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
• Commitment to work at Test Takers through the end of the 2026/27 school year.
• Must live locally in Nassau County.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students in SAT preparation and high school academic subjects.
• Commit to a minimum of 12 tutoring hours per week.
• Complete a few additional hours of administrative work per week.
• Tutor during after-school hours, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
• Work at Test Takers through the end of the 2026/27 school year.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Be proactive and efficient in work.
• Be team-oriented and coachable.
