About The Position

Elite Prep San Jose is seeking an SAT English Instructor to teach SAT English (Reading & Writing) in group classes (approximately 15 students) and 1-on-1 sessions. The role involves delivering structured lessons on reading comprehension, passage analysis, evidence-based questions, grammar, writing, sentence structure, rhetoric, and transitions. The instructor will guide students in test-taking strategies, time management, and accuracy improvement, as well as review student performance, provide targeted feedback, track progress, and communicate updates to the team. Elite Prep San Jose provides students in grades 5-12 with a challenging academic environment that promotes personal growth and discipline, develops the knowledge and skills necessary to unlock their academic potential, and ultimately assists them in gaining admission to the colleges and universities of their choice. We serve the communities of Burlingame, Mountain View, Fremont, Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Fresno, Pleasanton, and San Ramon, as well as the San Jose and Milpitas Unified School Districts, and the Campbell and Los Gatos–Saratoga Union High School Districts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong proficiency in reading comprehension analysis
• Strong proficiency in English grammar and writing conventions
• Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring

Nice To Haves

• 2+ years of SAT teaching experience
• Background in English, Linguistics, Education, or related field
• Experience working with high-achieving students in competitive environments
• Familiarity with Digital SAT (Bluebook format)

Responsibilities

• Teach SAT English (Reading & Writing) in group classes (~15 students) and 1-on-1 sessions.
