About The Position

The SAP Planning & Analytics Analyst supports and enhances Simplot’s SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP Datasphere, and connected SAP planning and reporting solutions. The analyst independently supports new and existing PTA application solutions, resolves complex incidents and service requests, and delivers enhancements and project work. The role elicits and translates business needs into requirements, configures SAC and performs application-specific development, validates end-to-end data flows from SAP S/4HANA and related sources, and partners with business, functional, security, architecture, and development teams to deliver sustainable solutions. The position exercises independent judgment within established architecture, security, delivery, and governance standards; provides practical guidance to business users and team members; and helps improve support, documentation, automation, and self-service. Direct SAC experience is preferred, with opportunities to deepen expertise in SAC, SAP Datasphere, and related SAP technologies. • Use SAP S/4HANA knowledge to validate source data, master data, tables, CDS views, and end-to-end data flows, distinguishing application issues from source, integration, security, or process issues.
  • Support recurring planning and reporting cycles, coordinate production changes through CAB/ChaRM, and communicate status, risks, resolutions, and business impact.
  • Create and maintain BMC Helix records, Azure DevOps work items, support documentation, and knowledge articles.
  • Elicit, analyze, synthesize, and document business, functional, technical, and non-functional requirements for enhancements and projects, including as-is and to-be processes.

  • Consult with business users and technical teams on complex planning, reporting, data, access, and process issues, explaining solutions and tradeoffs in business-friendly language.
  • Administer SAC access and security within approved policies and standards, including SAC teams and roles, myIDentity/SailPoint provisioning, and license alignment with SAP Security.
  • Develop and maintain training content, user guides, release notes, solution documentation, and how-to materials; lead demos, office hours, onboarding, UAT support, and hypercare.
  • Promote knowledge sharing across PTA, the Service Desk, business administrators, and Super Users, and provide practical guidance or mentoring to less-experienced analysts as needed.
  • Reduce recurring support and delivery issues through root-cause fixes, standardization, monitoring, automation, and self-service capabilities.
  • Research and apply practical uses of Microsoft Copilot, intelligent agents, SAP capabilities, and other automation tools to improve troubleshooting, knowledge access, documentation, and user support.
  • Help improve PTA methods, standards, templates, and metrics for solution quality, support effectiveness, adoption, and operational reliability.
