SAP iXp Intern - AI Product Management
About The Position
The SAP iXp Intern - AI Product Management will join SAP’s Application AI team within the Application AI Product & Engineering organization. The team builds agents and AI products embedded in enterprise systems that contain business-critical transactional data. The intern will contribute to identifying product opportunities, designing autonomous workflows, writing product and technical documentation, prototyping concepts, and supporting products through development, release, and productization. The role provides hands-on experience with production-grade AI systems and the full product lifecycle, along with access to SAP Next Gen mentors, development programs, and peers. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week internship based at SAP America, Inc., 10 Hudson Yards, 51st Floor, New York, NY 10001. The anticipated start date is January 4, 2027, and the contract duration is three months. Compensation is USD 36.00–59.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a master's program in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in AI products, including agents, machine learning, and optimization.
- Comfort shipping code and building prototypes.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to map processes across systems to surface gaps.
- Customer-oriented mindset, with consideration for the business users who depend on the products being built.
- Clear communication skills and an interest in finding smart solutions to problems.
- Openness to working with AI tools, including agentic AI, to automate everyday tasks, prototype ideas, and build confidence in AI-assisted work.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
- Familiarity with agent frameworks, guardrails, human-in-the-loop (HITL) practices, or evaluation methods.
Responsibilities
- Support identifying product opportunities through usage data, process mining, and user shadowing.
- Contribute to designing autonomous workflows that combine agents, code, and machine learning.
- Help author product requirement documents and technical specifications covering data sources, APIs, context engineering, and evaluation frameworks.
- Build working prototypes to validate specifications before full engineering investment.
- Work closely with engineers through development, release, and productization.
