About The Position

Clarkston Consulting is seeking a motivated, self-driven SAP FICO Solution Architect to deliver business solutions for clients in the life sciences, consumer products, and retail industries. The role involves leading the design, architecture, and deployment of SAP solutions in the Finance & Controlling area, working with clients to address business challenges through industry expertise, process knowledge, and consulting services. When not at a client site, consultants work from their home office; relocation is not required. Travel is estimated to average 30–50%, depending on client and project needs.

The architect will lead business process reviews and requirements gathering, develop and configure SAP FICO functions, guide consultants and client personnel, and support engagements from solution design through implementation. The role also includes identifying opportunities for client improvement, advising on industry trends, overseeing customized reports, providing technical support and training, and helping scope prospective engagements and proposals.

Requirements

• At least eight years of experience and deep expertise in SAP FICO.
• At least three full-life-cycle SAP projects.
• Expertise in SAP solution design and development.
• Excellent knowledge of Finance business processes.
• Team-lead experience.
• Flexibility and adaptability, including willingness to work across design, hands-on configuration, and other roles as needed.
• Thorough client-services orientation and experience taking an active role in executing engagements and project plans or tasks.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to present and write at a publication-quality level to communicate findings and recommendations.
• A four-year degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• Travel averaging 30–50%, varying with client and project needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and deployment of SAP solutions within SAP FICO (Finance & Controlling).
• Facilitate business process reviews to gather expected business outcomes and functional requirements, and document end-to-end processes and business requirements.
• Design, develop, and configure SAP FICO functions to meet client business requirements, including integration points with other modules.
• Identify opportunities to improve clients’ competitive advantage by applying industry experience and leading practices.
• Advise clients on industry trends and issues and their potential impact.
• Lead and guide consultants and client personnel implementing SAP FICO.
• Lead analysis and design sessions to define requirements for client solutions.
• Manage and oversee the design and development of customized reports.
• Provide general technical support to clients and conduct training as required.
• Assist with scoping prospective engagements and developing proposals.
