About The Position

The SAP ERP Application Manager will lead SAP implementation and operational support initiatives across business-critical systems. This role involves managing cross-functional teams and global vendor relationships, driving system optimization, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. The position plays a key role in aligning ERP operations with business objectives and requires close collaboration with stakeholders in both Japanese and international business environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in SAP system implementation and/or ERP application operations.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP platforms.
• Project management experience.
• Experience managing non-Japanese vendors.
• Understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
• Understanding of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library).
• Strong analytical skills for requirements analysis, system maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Japanese.
• Ability to support customers, communicate with senior management, and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Strong teamwork, problem-solving, critical thinking, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• SAP Certified Application Associate certification.
• ERP-related certifications and system implementation credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead team members in analyzing, developing, modifying, and maintaining application systems to meet business and user requirements.
• Oversee end-to-end SAP application operations to ensure system stability, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
• Manage system implementation and operational support projects while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Lead project planning, execution, progress monitoring, and stakeholder communication.
• Coordinate and manage relationships with external vendors, including non-Japanese vendors.
• Support requirements analysis, application maintenance, troubleshooting, and issue resolution activities.
• Ensure adherence to SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) processes and best practices.
• Apply ITIL-based operational practices to support service quality and system reliability.
• Collaborate closely with business users, management, project teams, and technical resources to deliver solutions and operational support.
