SAP Developer / Global Support Manager (SAP Senior Technical Support Engineer)
About The Position
The SAP Developer / Global Support Manager (SAP Senior Technical Support Engineer) role is a fully onsite, 12-month contract position with possible extensions, located in Columbia, South Carolina. The successful candidate will manage statewide SAP enterprise systems supporting Finance, Budgeting, Grants Management, Materials Management, Supplier Relationship Management, and Human Resources & Payroll. The current SAP landscape includes SAP ECC 6.0 EHP8, SRM 7.04, BW 7.5, PI 7.5, Solution Manager 7.2, Fiori Launchpad & Gateway on NetWeaver 7.52, and Business Objects 4.3. The role involves SAP Basis & Infrastructure Administration, Architecture & Technical Leadership, and Third-Party Integration Support. The candidate will also be responsible for creating technical documentation, conducting peer coaching, and providing technical knowledge transfer.
Requirements
- 10+ years of SAP ABAP Solution Architecting experience
- 10+ years of SAP ABAP/Java installation & configuration
- 10+ years of SAP upgrades, enhancement packs, OSS Notes, support packs, troubleshooting
- 5+ years with SAP NetWeaver releases
- 5+ years of Public Sector SAP experience
- Must currently reside in South Carolina or relocate prior to start date at own expense.

Responsibilities
- SAP installation, configuration, upgrades, and enhancement pack implementation
- Support Package and OSS Note administration
- SAP system refreshes, client copies, and transport management
- SAP performance tuning and troubleshooting
- SAP workload and system health monitoring
- Database and OS performance optimization
- Managing SAP in Windows Server 2012–2025 and SQL Server 2014–2019 environments
- VMWARE virtualization support
- SAP solution architecting and infrastructure planning
- Hardware sizing and landscape planning
- Technical mentoring and leadership across teams
- SAP release impact analysis
- Designing implementation and maintenance strategies
- Supporting project deployments and production environments
- Create technical documentation
- Conduct peer coaching and classroom training
- Provide technical knowledge transfer
- Support integrations with Vertex, BSI, Adobe Forms, Doc Builder, Nakisa, and Business Objects
