About The Position
This role focuses on designing and implementing SAP ILM architecture for BRIM data archiving and retention. The individual will define archiving strategies, data objects, retention rules, and lifecycle policies, ensuring alignment with business and compliance needs. Key activities include leading ILM configuration, technical design, and collaborating with various SAP teams. The position also involves supporting data readiness, mock runs, validation, and production execution of archiving, while ensuring adherence to data privacy, legal hold, retention, and audit requirements. Risk identification and mitigation related to technical aspects like data volume and performance are crucial. The role requires providing technical leadership, preparing documentation, and supporting cutover and post-archiving validation.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience as an SAP ILM Technical Architect
- Proven expertise in SAP ILM architecture design, data archiving, and retention management
- Solid understanding of SAP BRIM and SAP S/4HANA data models
- Experience working on large-scale archiving or system lifecycle management projects
- Strong knowledge of compliance, audit, data privacy, and legal retention requirements
- Excellent stakeholder communication and technical leadership skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience with SAP ILM Store, Retention Management, and Legal Hold
- Exposure to SAP BRIM modules (FICA, CI, Convergent Mediation)
- Experience working in regulated or audit-driven enterprise environments
- Ability to work effectively in onsite–offshore delivery models
Responsibilities
- Design and own the SAP ILM architecture for BRIM data archiving and retention
- Define archiving strategy, data objects, retention rules, and lifecycle policies aligned with business and compliance requirements
- Lead ILM configuration and technical design, including object selection, rule assignment, and data flow design
- Work closely with SAP BRIM, S/4HANA, functional, technical, and BASIS teams to ensure seamless implementation
- Support data readiness, mock runs, validation, and production execution of archiving activities
- Ensure adherence to data privacy, legal hold, retention, and audit requirements
- Identify and mitigate technical risks related to data volume, performance, and system stability
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development and support teams
- Prepare and maintain architecture documents, technical designs, and runbooks
- Support cutover, go-live, and post-archiving validation activities
