About The Position

We are looking for an IT Technology Services Expert with a strong technical background for supporting critical projects & administration in the Enterprise Cloud Services Delivery environment. Beside administration we are part of pilot projects for new technologies as reference for SAP customers. You will be responsible to drive continuous improvement in order to increase operation, availability and efficiency. Infrastructure landscape re-architecture and new technology adoption is another important part. Global thinking and a strong customer focus are essential within the new Enterprise Cloud Services program. Your role will be with the Center of Excellence teams comprising Database Administrator driving critical topics related to Incident Management, Problem Management, High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Backup & Restore among other operational tasks.

Requirements

  • Strong conceptual understanding and knowledge of RDBMS products.
  • Over 5 years of work experience as a Database Administrator in a Global Operations team.
  • Experience primarily on SAP ASE & HANA Database Platforms (any database technology is welcome).
  • Exposure to automation tools/scripting or processes.
  • Experience with DB installations and upgrades, planning, setup, and implementation.
  • Providing technical expertise and support in optimizing and tuning of Systems (Performance Optimization).
  • Must have a strong understanding of DB concepts on Security, Backup and recovery strategies, performance tuning, System Copies, high availability and disaster recovery strategy, export-import, replication.
  • Experience working with Linux is a must.

Nice To Haves

  • Cloud knowledge (e.g., experience of working in Public Cloud Domains like Microsoft Azure, AWS and GCP) is desirable but not essential.
  • Professional Certification of Database Platforms.
  • Exposure to Project Management tasks including PMP and ITIL certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day operational tasks.
  • Participate in pilot projects for new technologies.
  • Organize and structure day-to-day documentation as needed.
  • Take on-call duty/Weekend tasks during working hours on a rotation basis.
