SAP ABAP Developer - BTP Integration Suite
About The Position
The SAP ABAP Developer designs, develops, unit-tests, and supports SAP RICEFW deliverables in a complex enterprise environment. Work includes custom reports, interfaces, data conversions, enhancements, forms, workflows, CDS views, OData services, and RAP-based applications. The developer translates functional requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions and supports the full development lifecycle, including coding, testing, technical documentation, transport preparation, defect resolution, SIT and UAT, cutover smoke testing, production issue triage, and knowledge transfer. The role also designs, builds, tests, and supports integrations using SAP BTP Integration Suite and related SAP integration technologies. It involves SAP-to-SAP and SAP-to-non-SAP integrations using APIs, messaging, events, file-based, and B2B patterns; implementing monitoring and operational support; and collaborating with functional teams, architects, and business stakeholders. The position calls for strong ABAP OO and modern SAP development skills, SAP IS-U knowledge, debugging and performance optimization, and integration and conversion support.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience building and delivering solutions with SAP integration tooling.
- At least 2 years of experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite/CPI.
- Experience with SAP Trading Partner Management or an equivalent EDI platform.
- Experience with SAP Advanced Event Mesh or an equivalent event-driven architecture platform.
- Strong ABAP OO skills and experience with modern SAP development practices.
- Knowledge of SAP IS-U tables and processes, debugging techniques, performance optimization, and integration/conversion support.
- U.S. citizenship (dual citizenship accepted).
- Must be eligible to obtain government clearance.
- Must have U.S. work authorization that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship.
Nice To Haves
- SAP or hyperscaler-related integration certification.
- Experience with other iPaaS solutions such as Mulesoft, Boomi, and Azure Integration Services.
- Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, and New Relic.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and support integration solutions using SAP BTP Integration Suite and other SAP-aligned integration technologies.
- Implement SAP BTP Integration Suite capabilities, including Cloud Integration, API Management, Integration Advisor, Trading Partner Management, Event Mesh, and Advanced Event Mesh.
- Develop integrations between SAP and non-SAP applications using APIs, messaging, events, file-based, and B2B integration patterns.
- Collaborate with functional teams, architects, and business stakeholders to analyze requirements and translate them into technical integration solutions.
- Develop reusable integration components, templates, and mappings to improve delivery efficiency.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational support capabilities to improve interface reliability and supportability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues across development, QA, and production environments.
- Use AI-enabled development and testing tools to accelerate delivery and improve productivity.
- Contribute to integration standards, development best practices, documentation, and team knowledge-sharing.
- Design, develop, and unit-test SAP RICEFW deliverables, including custom reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, workflows, CDS views, OData services, and RAP-based applications.
- Support the development lifecycle by coding, preparing technical documentation and transport materials, resolving defects, and contributing to SIT and UAT.
- Participate in cutover smoke testing, production issue triage, and knowledge transfer activities.
