Sanitation Worker - Sanitation Fresh - Shift 1
About The Position
This position will report to the Supervisor and is a Full-Time Regular, Non-Exempt role with a pay range of $17.00 - $19.00. The Sanitation Worker is responsible for the removal of raw products and solid waste from food contact surfaces to properly clean and sanitize the production facility area/grounds, and equipment. Bolthouse Fresh Foods is a leader in carrot production, serving as a grower, packer, processor, and shipper, headquartered in Bakersfield, California, with approximately 1,600 employees. Since 1915, they have been committed to growing and producing high-quality carrots and are one of North America’s largest growers and distributors of fresh carrots for cooking and snacking, also supplying premium natural ingredients for the food and beverage industry.
Requirements
- High School/GED or six months to one year of experience in related field or combination of both education and experience.
- Must be able to obtain forklift certification within 30 days of hire date.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Must be reliable, responsible, dependable, and be able to fulfill obligations
- Ability to work in a fast paced and high-pressure environment
- Work as a team and follow instructions
Nice To Haves

Responsibilities
- Remove solid waste and raw products from production facility floors, food contact surfaces, and containers.
- Cover and protect all sensitive equipment with canvas/plastic covers
- Preparatory rinsing of all food contact surfaces
- Apply cleaning chemicals to all machinery
- Use centralized and/or portable foaming systems
- Rinse and remove cleaning chemicals
- Operate forklift for chemical transportation and trash disposal
- Operate riding scrubber to clean large areas of production processing areas
- Help disassemble deep cleaning equipment
- Apply heavy-duty chemicals to break down accumulated sugars
- Apply concentrated sanitizer to walls and overhead
- Inspect respirator mask, filters, and report defects in a timely manner
- Other assigned duties and/or projects to support business needs
