About The Position

Responsible for assisting drivers in removing pallets and product from trailers when they return from delivering product to members. This role involves marking and recouping returns, returning the product to pick slots for shipment to members, and performing general warehouse sanitation duties. The position supports AWG's mission to ensure the success of member retailers and provide opportunities to employees by satisfying customer needs for quality merchandise and superior support services. The goal is to achieve this with high-quality employees focused on providing the lowest possible cost of goods to ensure member profitability, competitiveness, and continued growth.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Ability to read and speak fluent English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence relating to position.
  • Ability to calculate figures and apply concepts of basic math and algebra.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to work with coworkers and gain mutual respect with a common goal of increasing sales and profitability.
  • Ability to operate safely warehouse mobile equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Prior warehouse experience.
  • Warehouse mobile equipment operating experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Separating good pallets from bad and Chep pallets from wood.
  • Maintaining accurate counts of Chep pallets as they are loaded to go to Chep storage to keep an up-to-date inventory.
  • Segregating all returns by department to ensure their placement back to the correct area.
  • Ensuring freezer boxes are cleaned before storing them on a trailer.
  • Ensuring VMC returns are loaded with the totes where they can be returned to the VMC warehouse.
  • Receiving and loading product which goes to the reclamation center.
  • Having the equipment available for the drivers to unload their trucks.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area.
  • Recouping and marking grocery returns for return-to-stock using the WRAPS system and returning the product to the pick slots.
  • Verifying returned product is not out-of-date or short dated before marking.
  • Running a batch report for inventory control to add the product back to the system.
