The Sanitation Worker cleans production areas, company facilities, production equipment, supplies, and machinery. This role is responsible for following safety precautions, cleaning and sanitizing various surfaces and equipment, and completing sanitation documentation accurately and timely. The position requires the ability to read and understand safety data sheets (SDS), incorporate special or rotational cleaning duties, and operate various gas, air, and electrical equipment. Flexibility in scheduled cleaning events due to production demands is also necessary. The worker will handle a variety of chemicals and personal protective gear (PPE), run CIP for pasteurization equipment, and empty wastebaskets. A strong understanding of production quality, food safety, and chemical awareness is essential. The role involves keeping equipment and tools clean and organized, managing a Cleaning Log daily, reporting to the workstation on time, wearing proper attire, and assisting in setting up the work area. Duties must be performed according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Sanitization Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) that meet quality and safety standards pertaining to HACCP, FDA, EPA, OSHA, USDA, WDA, and customer requirements.
