About The Position

The City of Elkins is looking to hire a Sanitation Worker. The position is an entry-to-mid-level position. We are looking for dependable people who want to make a difference in our community. This is a full-time, regular, non-exempt position that is subject to overtime. The minimum starting pay is $14.03 per hour. The city offers excellent benefits, as detailed in the City's Personnel Manual. Under direct supervision, the role involves collecting and depositing garbage into trucks on City collection routes. Work also includes cleaning trucks, dumpsters, and department facilities, and performing related tasks as required. The position reports to the Sanitation Supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Possession of a West Virginia driver's license is desired.

Responsibilities

• Collects and deposits garbage into trucks on City collection routes.
• Cleans trucks, dumpsters, and department facilities.
• Performs related tasks as required.
